Where is the engine of a cruise ship located? Need to know for fiction story?

I'm writing a horror fiction for my acc. lang. arts class.

Basically, major engine troubles, stranded on a deserted island, no food, the usual.

But I need to know where the engines at, Im pretty sure it's near the rear but I want to be sure.

Stupid question, I know, but if you could just answer, I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance =)

Yes, the engine room is located at the stern (rear) section of the ship. Most ships have up to six engines. The Lower decks are where the engines are (usually deck A and B)

    Hope I helped!
