What do I need to run a Vampire: The Masquerade game? (Role play, not video game)?

My girlfriend played the old Vampire: The Masquerade game, before Requiem, but has never had the books to run her own game. Her birthday is coming up and I'd like to get them for her. I was just wondering what exactly I need?

I know the V:tM core book, and is it true I need a World of Darkness core book too? If so what one do I need to match the third edition of V: tM? Is there anything else I need?
