List Of Decent Vampire Literature?

I want some names for Vampire literature that is not S. Meyer (I hate Twilight) nor Anne Rice (because I haven't the will to start Vampire Lestat yet). I prefer something violent and gorey like Midnight mass by F. Paul Wilson. Please and thank you.

    Here’s what I’ve really enjoyed:
    Dracula by Bram Stoker
Quincey Morris, Vampire by P.N. Elrod
the Noble Dead series by Barb & J.C. Hendee
    The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
    Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett
    Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
    You Suck by Christopher Moore

These two series are decent and rather violent, but only read ‘em if you don’t mind lots of descriptive sex:
the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton
the Vampire Huntress Legend series by L.A. Banks

I can suggest any of the books that Poppy Z. Brite wrote. Quite different from Anne Rice.

There is a series of vampire books coupled with mind readers and people who can speak to the dead called The Necroscope Series By Brian Lumley. Its a continual series of about ten books. I am a horror fan and I couldn’t wait for the next book in the series to come out at this time. Excellent series. Happy Reading.(young people don’t do enough reading anymore they don’t know what joy they are missing)
