Is it possible to create a halfbreed human/vampire bat?

Kinda like making a vampire, or like creating a werewolf with human and wolf halfbreed.

What if it were possible then vampires would be running around wouldn’t they?

It might be possible to make a chimera which is part human and part bat cells in a single organism. It would never fly. There is probably no way to combine the genes with current technology.

No. Humans have 23 chromosomes, bats have 22. The animal that you would create would have genetic diseases so dehabilitating that it would not survive as a fetus.

It's like driving coast to coast with a map that has Nebraska cut out - and Nebraska is an awful state to get lost in.
