I'm looking for a good Fiction Novel, anyone know any?
I want to expand my vocabulary and actually help my grades. I heard that reading on your own, atleast 30 minutes a day, can improve your grades. But I want a good book. It's hard for me to stick with one book so I need a REALLY good book. I want a Fiction, mystery, horror, or some stuff. Not really like.. Kiddy stuff.

Swan Song by Robert McCammon is good.
Stephen King novels. I def suggest the Dark Tower Series.
The Descent by Jeff Long is also good. A lot better than the movie that is supposedly based off the book.
Lord of the Flies: kind of a kiddie book but its good.
Buy a book of poetry. Its a totally different style of writing and can def help you with your vocab.

I’m pretty sure you already read "The Harry Potter Series", but if you haven’t, you must. It’s by J.K. Rowling if you didn’t know.

Tono-Bungay by H.G. Wells.

Sharpes series , by Bernard Cornwell.
It’s about a British soldier during the Napoleonic Wars who saved the General’s life and they made him an officer, and he goes around catching traitors and spys and hitting on women and getting drink and stuff. They’re really funny books, so they keep you interested, and at the same time you can learn stuff about history, and improve your reading skills.
Also, if you like mystery/horror movies and stuff, you should try different genres in books.
Like, I LOVE sci-fi movies and I’m a HUGE trekkie, but i can’t stand to read sci-fi books, and prefer fantasy or historical fiction. So trying different genres may help you find something you like.

try my favorite novels which is, " The last wars of the jinn " by: A Fantasy Steps Group. " The Lord Of The Rings " " The Hobbit " by: J.R.R.
If you don’t want the kiddy stuff, so, you have to read it. enjoy it.

Hi There,
for a more formal use of language, a gothic atmosphere, tension and the darker motives or twisted minds you could always give Wuthering Heights be Emily Bronte a read.
It also comes in a Norton Critical Edition which will have notes and commentaries on the text.

I was always the best speller in my class and I honestly beleive it is because I was always reading. At the age of 10 I fell in love with Frank Herbert’s Dune. If you love sci-fi it is perfect.
Stephen King is always good, if you are a science enthusiast I would suggest Tommyknockers. The book is huge but filled with interesting technology.
Try Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.
If you are looking for a book that makes you think try The Giver by Lois Lowry.
There are always the teen horror novels by R.L. Stine
The Belgariad which is a series of books by David Eddings.

The Blood of the Lamb by Thomas F. Monteleone
Black Wind by F. Paul Wilson
Both of these writers are fantastic and should be on the bestsellers lists . . . .

My Gothic teenage horror novel - The Devil’s Creature in the City of the Dead - has been thoroughly enjoyed by teenagers not known to be keen on reading. Not for the faint hearted.
