How did Charles Dickens impact the Victorian Period in England?

His ridicule of the arrogance of wealth and powerful hit home on many fronts at that time , as they were the ruling elite. once shown up for the pompous self opinionated fools that they were they quickly lost there power base as arbiters of all society. Who really wanted to look like scrooge or Silas Marley
