According to folklore legend, a vampire turns into a bat, never a wolf. A human who changes into a wolf is called a werewolf, not a vampire.

Vampires don’t turn into wolves or bats. Have you ever read twilight? That’s what real vampires are like. They turn into sparkly fairies, NOT BATS.

In the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade, members of the vampire Clan Gangrel have the Blood Discipline of Protean, which allows them to change their form into that of a normal wolf or large bat. Those who study this Discipline, can, in time learn to even mimic the werewolve’s Crinos shape (half-man, half-wolf) or turn into a billowing cloud of Mist.
Good thing vampires aren’t real.

i am sorry to stat that vampires can not shape shift.
Yes I am boycotting.
Vampire exist, and this can be proven with the application of opening ones eyes, keeping an open mind, and hearing what others have to say.
1. Vampires, defined as a person that most consume blood is false, for it is not the blood that a vampire needs, is the then energy or life force of a person. It would be the same as to say that a normal person must eat meat, well people do eat meat, but the meat itself is not what people need, it is the protein and vitamins in the meat, even more so the protein and vitamins can be gained form other sources. So in truth people do not need to eat meat. The same as vampire do not need to drink blood, it is simply the best way to get what a we need, but not the only way, there are many vampires like vegetarians that chose not to drink blood and gain there energy form other methods. (And yes the copy past on my computer will be used as well.)
2. Yes, the description given in the opposite answer is a vary good description of the digestive system, but as I said before, the blood itself is not what the vampire is after; it is the energy with in it. The thought that there is a flow of energy in the human body is widely spread around the world, now most commonly heard about it in alternative medicine were it is still used today. Were drinking blood comes into this is that heart pumps blood through your hole body, in fact a blood cell can travel through you entire body in less then a day, this is were the energy and blood come together, the thought is that blood on its travel through the body collects this energy in it and is thought to be the richest source of it. Now vampires comes into play, the true definition of a person that is a vampire is not someone that needs to drink blood or taken energy, but is someone that can. In short a person that can take and use energy form others, needed or not, is by definition a vampire.
3. NOT IMPORTANT, in fact not related. A person that cannot digest food properly is not a vampire. Were need comes in is when a vampire is unable to produce there own life energy, and needs to take it form others to sustain them self’s. Now we get into my own experiences, I have never seen a vampire that will die if he or she does not feed, in fact this would be a good time to tell you some of the other methods of feeding.
The methods of feeding brake down into two methods.
Blood drinking. This is were a vampire will drink a persons blood.
Then we get into the more complex psychic feeding. This is were a vampire will adsorb energy from a person by touch or by absorbing emotions. This goes back to the energy thing; we all give off energy in emotion or by simply occupying a space in a room physic feeding is tacking in this energy, or consuming it.
Now were this is concerned there are two deferent ideas on how this works, they are the “collect” and “take” ideas. The “collect” idea is that a vampire simply picks up what a person give off, most vampires think that it works this way. Then there is “take” idea, there are groups of vampires that think that they can pull away energy form people, and in a sense drain them, I my self do not think that this is possible, but some do so I post it here.
4. The point that my competitor was trying to make here is unclear even the human body can consume blood without any health problems, further more the human body simply would pass out any extra iron or salt consumed in the blood. That and a vampire most eat real food. Energy alone will not to sustain a body, a vampire would have to eat real food to survive, blood alone can not keep any human like animal alive, so if I do not mistake your point then I would go as fair as to stat that we agree on this point. Vampires most eat real food like normal people to live.
5. This point I will take as appearance. A vampire can chose to look and cloth itself as free as any human, many vampires do not live the Goth life, many live normal lives aside form consuming energy or blood and perhaps taking part in vampire activities they would look and act normal. Yes fangs are fake, no real vampire has them or is born with them, I do not downcast any human or vampire that chose to have there fangs changed or wear black clothing or dark costumes I am mealy saying that so few vampire look and act this way that it is nothing more then a serotype. Think of your best friend, think of the guy next door, and think of the person that sits next to you in class, this is what vampire looks like and act like, normal people.
6. Here again there is miss truth, and please let this be the end of this lie. A vampire can only be born not made. This get bite and become a vampire thing is not true. You cannot become a vampire, you most be born one. No amount of biting, blood transfusions or spells will ever change this fact.
I know that a vampire occurs in a bloodline ever 4-5 generations, this child
