Are there any really good vampire romance novels besides the obvious?

Don't get me wrong, I love 'you know what' but I really don't want to hear one mention of it in your answers. Thank you.

the southern vampires series by charlaine harris (AKA sookie stackhouse books) are very very good. much better than the hbo series based on them.

the anita blake books are very good in the beginning of the series but just become mindless sex in the later books

the circle trilogy by nora roberts

these aren’t about vampires but they all have some romance and supernatural elements in them:

Mortal Instruments Series by Cassanda Clare
Evermore and Blue Moon by Alyson Noel (Immortals Series)
The Summoning Series by Kelly Armstrong
Wake and Fade by Lisa Mcmann
Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb

These aren’t Vampire books but they might be something you’d like:

The Blue Is For Nightmares series

The entire set of The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.

Romance isn’t the key theme, but it is certainly a large aspect. And they are damn good books from start to end.

    I like:

Laurell K Hamilton’s "The Anita Blake Series."
    Christine Feehan’s "The Dark Series."
Charlaine Harris’ "The Southern Vampire Mysteries"

And most anything by Lyndsay Sands. :o) She writes really cute, light-humour romance novels.

J.R. Ward is the right balance of romance and fiction. A great read. FYI- In some bookstores she is carried under fiction or urban fiction.
You can find Patricia Briggs in the fantasy section. Just enough of a romantic spark to keep you reading. I agree that Laurell K. Hamilton series starts out good but becomes nothing more than smut later in the series (not that there is anything wrong with that if you like it). House of Night series by P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristin Cast. I could go on all day.lol.

Lyndsay Sands’ "Argeneau" and "Rogue Hunter" series.

I really haven’t gotten into any other series so far, but I’ve enjoyed these. It really depends on what you are looking for in a romance which one would be best for you.

Laurell K Hamilton HAS turned into a book about alot of random sex, but it’s still a good series.
Christine Feehan’s series is more focused on the main couple of each book.
Charlaine Harris’ series is a lighter, quicker read than the others.
Lynsay Sands’ series is the most balanced of the group, I’d say.

Try one of each and see who grabs you!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood - Starts with Dark Lover BUT, I’m warning you, it’s a little risque or erotic or w.e. you want to call it

Vampire Academy is great. As is Blue Bloods and the Sookie Stackhouse series. HOWEVER, I don’t recommend Vampire Diaries.

    Happy Reading.

    Ok
    1) sookie stackhouse murders are a MUST. They are beautifully written and amazing. my whole family is hooked, nothing like the show.
    2) Vampire series by Anne Rice. She is amazing, and they are WAY better than the teen romance stuff that is barely passable. Not dull at all.
