Are the “Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter” books worth reading?
I read the first book and it was pretty good, but I was just wondering if the others in the series were worth reading.

No.
At least not anything past the 10th or 11th book of the series. It just gets too…not good after that. I stopped after the 11th book, some stopped at 10. I liked the 11th book, lots hated it.
Also, as some others will tell you, the first ten books of the series are good. The plots are cool, the concepts are neat, there is some badass action in them, and some romance. I would highly recommend the first TEN. Anything after that is completely up to you, but I, as well as most, just couldn’t handle all the sexual content in the later books, and just in general, the downhillness of the books after the 10th or 11th one.
Who knows though? You might find you don’t have a problem. Some don’t. If I were you, I would go as far into the series as you like, as long as you still enjoy the books as you go. When you don’t like them any more, stop reading.

I’ve read them and I’d say they are a lot like this question: absolutely not worth reading under any circumstances whatsoever.

I love the books up until Incubus Dreams (or Micah if you include the novella). That is followed by 3 books that aren’t worth the paper they are written on. Danse Macabre / The Harlequin / Blood Noir aren’t very good. The first two are just porn with very little story. Blood Noir got a little better but wasn’t worth paying retail for the book. Just read Skin Trade and the books are back on course. Anita is back to being an a@@ kicker and killing things. She’s still a little whiny, but after the past 3 books, I can deal with that.
